I know you're busy, but whenever you have a chance, I'm wondering if I could have bureaucrat rights over on the Blade Runner Wiki. It would make it easier for me to implement my suggested edits and I've got plenty of experience. I have tried reaching out to the other admin over there, but he hasn't been responsive, unfortunately.
I started contributing to this wiki a few weeks back and I noticed there weren't really active admins around. I was planning to ask you about the rights but I wanted to build up my edit count first since I had less than 100 edits. Before I could ask, Mx. Junie asked you the same question, so I told her I'd be happy to help her out as just a regular user.
Now, I read in your reply to her that were looking for a few new admins, so I just wanted to let you know that if you still are looking for another admin, I'd be more than happy to accept the responsibility. I am also an admin on several other wikis so I definitely have some experience to bring to the table. If you feel like one new admin is enough, that's also fine by me, but I just wanted to put it out there.
I was informed by User:Moviesign that if I wanted adminship here, I would have to speak to you. If there are any requirements for anyone to gain the admin role, what would they have to be? Returning back to this wiki, I wanted to try to keep thing tidy and keep track of additions in the hopes to combat anything like vandalism. There were also some ideas that I wanted to incoperate into this wiki that I've learned from working on the Marvel Cinematic Universe wiki.
I am really appreciating the work you have done! You have done so much and done many great things for this wiki and it is looking better than ever!
I am interested in learning about your ideas that you have because after seeing what you have done, you can spill it to me.
You do not need to contact anyone concerning admin rights. That is because I just gave it to you. I was looking for more admins for this wiki as I have been handling things with a few others in the past like Moviesign. I am glad you are here and I gave you the rights you need.
Thank you for all your work and welcome to our Cluster of Sensates!
One idea I had would to help with navigating the wiki as much as I can. When I started on this wiki, I did notice that there were some issues with keeping track of certain articles; there are probably pages now that exist that haven't been thought about since their creation.
From working on the other wiki mentioned, I also noticed that it feels easiest working on character pages if the headings and subheadings named or described an event that happened for them rather than divide the articles by episode. (e.g. a section titled "Pursuit for Riley" that explains the events that happen in 1.11 and 1.12) I will be sure to make little citations as well for every piece of detail I can remember from/for each episode.
While not all images uploaded to the wiki will be used in articles, any images from a scene, depicting a character, or showcasing a region will more or less be placed in their own galleries. For characters that have multiple appearances in a season (10 or more images), they will be provided their own separate gallery, with the link [PAGENAME/Gallery]. Same will be done for quotes, to help keep pages from becoming too lengthy.
And I would not mind attempting to create a few more templates that could need some slight moditification here and there; Moviesign was nice enough to somewhat help me in changing the Template:Sense8Characters for me, since I wanted better organization for that template and possible future navboxes.
If you want, I will be sure to keep you updated on any changes made here. And thank you so much for this position.
Hi Moviesign! My name is Mike from Fandom's Community Development Team! I noticed that the wiki is lacking in Season 2 content, so I've added the pages for the episodes. I would also like permission to revamp the main page with Season 2 content like updating the slider and adding the Season 2 trailer, as well as possibly a new background and wordmark. What do you think?
Hi Peazeract - I've created a new BG for the wiki. It's currently uploaded over at my test wiki since it is a big change. Currently, the border blurs with black so that you can keep the design aesthetic of the wiki, but I could also blur it with white and then change the surrounding background color to white to match. This would not affect the content area at all.
I love what you have done with the main page! It looks great!!!
Thank you so much for your help! Until the release of the second season, me and another user has been the only one here working on this wiki and trying to make it appealing and informative and you just improved it by miles!
Thank you so much and if you jave anything else you would like to discuss, you can message me anytime.
No problems, happy to help! I've gone ahead and uploaded the new background based off the Season 2 promotional posters. Feel free to revert back to the old one if you want, but since Capheus' actor changed between seasons, it looked a bit odd with the old actor on the BG.
I have created a draft portable infobox for Template:Song since it was pretty simple and is only used on one page so far. I have added basic style selectors (mostly copied from the original infobox) to this wiki's CSS file and you can see what it looks like at Template:Song/Draft. You can view What's Up? on a separate tab and toggle between those two pages to see the differences between old and new. If you like the margin around the title and the image, I can probably duplicate that, but usually a bigger image is better.
Please let me know what you think and make requests or suggestions for changes. I will be happy to tweak it until you are satisfied before we "go live" with the changes. —Moviesign (talk) 16:59, August 7, 2016 (UTC)
I like the outline and the coloring. However, the page name text font does not match the font of other pages like the Character Infobox. They have text that looks like the text from the Netflix Series. If we are able to keep the text of the page name like that, then, I believe, would look perfect.
Ah, I didn't see that in the original Template:Song, but now that you point it out I can see it in the Character infobox. I have added that to the CSS, so you should see it now (you might have to clear your cache). If you are happy with this, I will roll this out and change the other infoboxes to match.
Ok, I have done a draft of the other two infoboxes. Please compare Template:Ability/Draft with Sharing and Template:Character Infobox/Draft with Sun Bak. Note that the Character box is considerably bigger than the original and I added section headers. Normally, all infoboxes are the same width, so if you want to choose a fixed width I can set that for all of them. If you want different widths, that can be done, it just takes more CSS.
Also, let me know if you want to change alignments of anything (left, center, right alignment of headers, labels, and data).
Hello, I would like to volunteer to fix up the infobox templates on this wiki and make them portable. This would require admin privileges to edit the CSS file so they don't look like the default portable infoboxes. I am a long-time admin on w:c:forgottenrealms:User:Moviesign so I present that as my credentials. If you have any ideas on how you'd like this wiki to look, I might be able to help out there too. Sorry for the late response as I have been busy with business offline. But yes. After viewing your work on The Forgotten Realms Wiki, I can and will grant you admin on this wiki in hopes that this wiki can become better in scope, appearance, and information.
Thank you for informing me about your interest and I hope we can cooperate some day soon.
Check out your Admin Dashboard, which can by found by clicking "Admin" on the bottom toolbar -- it has links to all your new tools. Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck with your new (old) wikia!
