Hi Mx. Junie; I'm Amanda with FANDOM's community development team! I'm reaching out to you to see if you are interested in turning on Discussions.
In case you are unaware of the feature, Discussions was introduced last year to help communities engage with users and fans. It lives in its own space on the wiki and allows users to interact with other members of the community. It is also mobile friendly, and gives mobile users a chance to contribute and engage with the community, and possibly turn them into wiki editors as well. You can read more about Discussions here.
For more information on migrating forums to Discussions, you can check out this blog over on Community Central that explains everything in detail.
If you have some concerns, Discussions and Forums can exist side-by-side in case you do not want to migrate just yet. However, eventually all Forums will be migrated over to Discussions, so getting ahead of the curve is never a bad idea.
Let me know what you think, and if you want to proceed I can get the ball rolling.
Thank you for notifying me of this. I will be sure to get back to you after speaking with another admin of this wiki, especially since they have also been a great contribution and want his opinion on this matter too.
I didn't know that. I also thought you added the period because there was a redirect that took the title's place. And I think I read that some links (like if we were to add subpages to it) would be pretty dysfunctional.
Plus, Idk. It felt odd for a title, assuming it was done by accident that went overlooked. I'll look around to verify the link thing though. In advance: sorry about that.
I changed the main color to white because I think it's easier on the eyes and reflects the lighter side of the show rather than the dark BPO war side of it. It's just an experiment and it can be easily reversed if you don't like it, just letting you know.
I would have said a lighter gray, but it's fine. At least I can see the red for links to pages that don't exist yet. Nice change.
And other than this one rule I read on the MCU wiki, I couldn't find anything to really take away from the period thing, so you can rename it back and have the PAGENAME w/o period be a redirect; I won't fight that.
Something else I wanted to ask you: is the text on some templates also distorted for you? The stub template is all mixed up for me so I can't read it, and when a title is pretty long in an infobox, I can only read half of it.
I don't mean to pry but I read your message about getting admin rights. I only recently started editing around this wiki and I was also interested in actively taking on this wiki when I noticed the admins weren't really contributing anymore. Now, I know that my 66 edits don't hold a candle to your nearly 1,000 edits so I won't ask for admin rights, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm eager to help you out so this wonderful show can get the well-organized and up-to-date wiki it deserves. :)
Hah, it's exactly the same for me. I was hoping to build up my edit count before asking for it because right now, I'm only an occassional editor. I have plenty of experience on other wikis but I figured that would be handy before coming on board here.
I can understand that. Would feel odd to be sudden like that. But in all seriousness, I'm sure they'll allow you to be an admin. If not, I'm curious if there's any requirements, since I haven't found anything that specified it.
I just read that you are developing a navbox so I wanted to clarify that the one I just added is one I quickly modified from one of my other wikis. I wanted to add such template ASAP since it really helps while editing, but feel free to change it out as soon as the one you have been working on is finished.
